Advanced Material & Surface Treatment Technologies
To combat the aggressive abrasive and corrosive nature of rubber compounds (especially those with silica, carbon black, or sulfur fillers), we offer targeted metallurgy options:
Nitride Class (Cost-Effective & Wear-Resistant)
Material: SACM 645 / 38CrMoAlA
Process: Gas Nitriding (treatment depth: 0.5 – 0.8 mm)
Surface Hardness: >= 950 HV
Application: General-purpose rubber compounding and low-wear profiles.
Bimetallic Class (Extreme Wear & Corrosion Protection)
Barrel Liner: Centrifugally cast alloy (Fe-Ni-Cr-Co-W base) with thickness 2.0 – 3.0 mm.
Screw Flight Coating: PTA (Plasma Transferred Arc) welding of Tungsten Carbide (WC) or Cobalt-based alloys.
Surface Hardness: HRC 60 – HRC 68.
Application: High-silica compound extrusion, EPDM, and corrosive halogenated rubbers.
Specialized Screw Designs for Rubber Extrusion & Molding
Unlike plastics, rubber processing requires tight control over shear heat to prevent premature curing (scorching). We customize the flight geometry to optimize your process:
Pin-Barrel System: Staggered pins break up the laminar flow, providing intensive distributive mixing at exceptionally low melt temperatures.
Barrier / Transfer Screws: Separates un-melted solid compounds from the plasticized mass, maximizing throughput and reducing air entrapment.
Internal Screw Cooling: Deep-hole gun-drilled channels run through the center of the screw, allowing fluid/water circulation to prevent overheating of the screw core.
